AWNT Chapter Fourteen~ The Strength Of An Apprentice

Rythien sighed with annoyance. "I've told you countless times not to do so much as cross paths with Lalna, nor the other Scientists. Why would you put your life at such a risk like that?"

"..." Die doesn't respond, only stare down at her paw-like gloves. The many burns and cuts had-once again-opened, and something red and slick was dripping onto the floor below. Along with her gloved hands, Die's face was dotted with little specs and streaked with lines of the same substance. "..."

Rythian chuckled, seeming to some behind his mask. "Look at you. You're bleeding everywhere. Not so smart, now were you?"

"Oh, shut up..." She then cursed under her breath. "...I'm sorry, Master Rythian...it won't happen again."

"Good. Now, about the Scientist..." He began.

"Which? I only know of-...two..." Die reached for her tail, but soon let go of it with hand prints of blood trailing along the fur-and causing her cuts to sting like Hell. "I only know of two..."

"Your so-called boyfriend is the one I am referring to. Why did he have a force field surrounding you?"

"'So-called'?! He is!" Die screamed, and looked to the ground with regret. "I'm sorry...again."

"Watch your tongue, before something happens." Rythian cleared his throat. "You should know better. And calm down, before you let your anger fly." He looked to Die with a slightly eager glint in his eyes. "If you see that Scientist again, I will personally kill the boy."

Dir's eyes widened some, realizing something. She doesn't even register what Rythian has just said. "You know...you hate the idea of me being romantically involved with a Scientist and all...and where does your love reside?" Die took a step forward, glaring. "A TECHNOMAGE!" She growled some. "And if you dare lay that damned Katar on Fall's skin, I'll personally hunt you down like a miner to diamonds..." Die glanced around, feeling scared out of her mind. 'Shouldn't have said that, I'm such an idiot sometimes!' She thought, clenching her fists and shutting her eyes tightly.

"Hey. This is a completely different matter. Do not make my friend here end what is left of your bleeding form." Rythian sheathed his Katar, holding it below Die's chin. "And who says I won't stop you from doing so?"

"...it still relates..." Die swallowed, wincing as the blade nicked her neck. "You're accusing me of something you are committing right now." She let her eyes fall on the blades' hilt. "And don't underestimate me..."

"I'd suggest you listen. They view you as weak, and you are at this time." Rythian spoke in a stern tone.

"What?!" Die exclaimed.

"You're bleeding everywhere. I view that as just plain disrespectful." Rythian answered, the blade of the Katar more closer to a vein in Die's neck.

"...I can't just full-on atta-" Die paused, a grin growing on her face. "I know what to do now..."

"Oh? A 'change of heart', are you having?" Rythian took his Katar away from her neck and his it behind his back. "Tread carefully."

"I know I said I wouldn't just full-on attack: but that's my plan." Die smiled up at Rythian's gaze.

"Yes, I heard you-but you are being a bit too vague for my liking..." He responded.

"A War-Tekkit War, no less-against one person." Die began. "Someone you've met. And I know well."

"Still not telling me who, exactly. But may I take a guess? Is it Lalna? Sjin?" Rythian tried to pry out the information from the Hybrid before him.

"Fall. His fall will be known throughout the entire land of Tekkitopia!" Die shouted with cheer.

"Good, my Apprentice. A very good choice to make." Rythian smiled slightly. "When will this take place."

"TomorrowMidnight." Die answers, something dark lurking in her eyes.

"Then prepare. Be ready, well rested, and ready to slice the young Scientists' throat." Rythian lifted up his Life Stone from his pocket, giving it to Die. "Here. Take this Life Stone. Once you are healed give it back."

"Thank you, Master Rythian." Die nodded her thanks and left the room to a mat on the floor, curling up like a cat would and fall asleep. She began to dream shortly after sleep overtook her-dreaming about the demise of someone she once held close looming closer over the horizon.

Rythian watched his Apprentice leave the room, and pulled his Katar out from behind him. "Sleep, my friend. In a nights' time, you shall have the blood of the Scientists pulling around your blade." Grinning, Rythian's eyes glowed slightly on the darkness.
